Shiner Independent School District

505 Texas Avenue
361-594-3121

Vision:

Shiner ISD: where individuals aspire to be dynamic, innovative and creative, using excellence as the standard measure.

About Us:

Shiner ISD has one campus - Shiner High and Shiner Elementary were both previously located on a single city block along Avenue E (Highway 90-A).

In Spring 2005, the Shiner Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to begin construction of a new combined Elementary and High School complex on a hilltop just northwest of Shiner, Texas. The first construction at the site began in early 2006 and was completed in April 2007. The new school campus was dedicated on August 13th and opened for the 2007-2008 school year.

Shiner ISD has been athletically successful in the past, winning multiple state championships in football, baseball, and softball. Shiner ISD has also twice been awarded the Lone Star Cup (2000-2001 and 2001-2002) which is awarded based on combined academic and athletic achievement. In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.
