The Sidney Shooting Park was established early in 2005 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the establishment of a shooting sports facility near Sidney, Nebraska, and the promotion of shooting sports in the greater southwest Panhandle area. Following approval by the Sidney City Council to lease SSP land north of the city landfill, work immediately began on a sporting clays range, and the first sanctioned sporting clays shoot was held on April 30, 2005. Shortly thereafter a 10-week sporting clays league was arranged and shoots were held once or twice weekly during the summer.

5 trap fields were built in late 2005.  The 5 trap fields include fully-automatic Pat Traps (including 2 wobble traps that oscillate both horizontally and vertically) and three standard trap machines. This makes the Sidney Shooting Park the finest facility for trap in the Panhandle of Nebraska.  Our fields face to the Northeast so the sun is always in the optimal location.

The archery range opened in August of 2005 and has seven firing points spread over distances ranging from 10 to 60 yards.  Our facility includes the ability to shoot at 3-D targets as well as blocks and bags.

A skeet field was added in 2014 that is now operational for the enjoyment of our members and guests.
