The purpose of SWAP, Inc. is to provide a mechanism by which people can preserve important natural areas of undeveloped land or small wilderness areas for the use and benefit of the general public. This purpose is accomplished by establishing regional chapters that act independently of this corporation, but whose actions are subject to the concurrence and/or approval of the corporation board of directors. Currently, the only active chapters is the one in Los Osos that cares for El Moro Elfin Forest Natural Area.
