"Smoke in the Outfield" is a new premiere barbecue festival in North Alabama, coming to Toyota Field on August 4-5. Two days of festivities include live music, entertainment and activities like mechanical bull rides, yard games, face painters and balloon artists, food and drink specialties, and capped off by 70 teams competing in a two part cook-off sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society. Competitors will be judged on best Chicken, Ribs and the People's Choice Awards, and compete for a Grand Prize of $1,500.
