Festival Facts

• The festival began as a spiedie cooking contest in 1983.
• The first official Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally took place in 1985.
• Each year the festival is held the first full weekend in August.
• Attendance has grown over the years - the festival currently sees between 90,000 and 100,000 admissions per year.
• The festival is a non-profit organization that donates proceeds to community charities.
• Since inception, the SpiedieFest and Balloon Rally has donated over $1 million dollars to local charities.
