Springfield Township Library

The Springfield Township Library is rich in local history and genealogy holdings. This collection is housed in the Eleanor V Downs Memorial Quiet Room located on the main floor of the library.

This collection is held in locked bookcases and a valid driver’s license is required to use these materials in the library. These materials do not circulate. Ask a librarian for assistance in using this excellent collection!

With an emphasis on Delaware County, Philadelphia and Pennsylvania history, this collection provides an excellent starting point for the study of this region’s history and genealogy. Examples of materials in the collection are township histories, county histories, general state histories, subject histories, genealogical works such as shipping lists, lists of wills, marriages and deaths, almanacs, and Springfield High School Yearbooks
