What We Believe

We accept all that Jesus Christ has taught us. He is the eternal Son of God, "the Way, the Truth, and the Life," Who was born into the world by the Holy Spirit as a child of The Virgin Mary, lived among us as a perfect human being, died on the Cross, rose from the dead, and lives and reigns for evermore. God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is the Center of our Faith--no one else. What we believe, we believe because of Him. He is the Standard of what is right and what is wrong.

We are Anglican in background and tradition. We are members of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We are Catholic, we accept the whole Christian Faith.

Our worship follows the forms of prayers and actions received from the ancient church.

In our Church life we follow Him in the way that Christians down the centuries tried and found true. We welcome you to share this way with us.

Because we believe in Jesus Christ, we believe in the Bible. He is the Word of God, the Bible is the Word of God abridged. The Bible is infinitely precious to us because of Jesus Christ. It is the Creators Operating Manual for our daily life.

Because we believe in Jesus Christ, we accept the Creeds. They summarize what Christians, guided by the Holy Spirit, have always believed about Him. We recite them with pride and confidence. They put in summary form the truth of the Bible.

Because we believe in Jesus Christ, we accept His Commandments. We know that we often fail to measure up to them, but He offers us forgiveness of sins and His Holy Spirit to overcome our weaknesses and shortcomings and make us like Him.

Because we believe in Jesus Christ, we believe in his Sacraments. We believe that He is really present and acts for our salvation in Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, Absolution, Holy Unction, Holy Matrimony, and Holy Orders. We believe that we must meet Him in faith.

Because we believe in Jesus Christ, we believe in worship centered in the gifts of His Body and Blood in the Holy Communion. When we receive these gifts in bread and wine we receive forgiveness for our daily sins and His life The Communion Chalice to take their place.

Because we believe in Jesus Christ, we believe in the Sacred Ministry. On the day of the Resurrection, Jesus met with His Apostles and gave them the Holy Spirit so that as His Witnesses they could forgive sins. This Sacred Ministry belongs to Him and is His gift to the church.

Because we believe in Jesus Christ, we believe in His Church. It is sent by Him to witness to His truth. It is not ours to change as we see fit; make into a social club, political party organization, or a lobby for social change.

We do not set up ourselves as being better or more perfect than other people; we know that we are imperfect and sinful, and that our only hope is in trying to obey Jesus Christ as Lord, and to love as He loved.
