Vision

Sunnyvale Is Making The Ascent... Changing our World One Step at a Time.

Statement of Faith

Recognizing the Bible is the very Word of God to man, and understanding the priority of knowing and obeying its truths, our Church is committed to studying and teaching the Word of God with diligence and authority. The central ministry of our church is the people of God, that they may know God and serve Him in worship and in ministry.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the written revelation of God, the 66 books constituting the plenary, verbally inspired words of God, being absolutely inerrant in the original documents. The Bible is to be received as God’s word to man – the only infallible rule of faith and practice – which performs its work in those who believe.

One God

We believe in the one true living God, Who eternally exists in three separate Persons: the Father, the Son - Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. These three are One in essence, co-equal, and deserving of the same worship and obedience.

Father

We believe in God the Father, Who orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and grace. He saves from sin all who come to Him through Jesus Christ, and He relates Himself to His own as ‘Father.’

Son

We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ. He was virgin born, God incarnate, His Divine nature uniting with humanity into an indivisible oneness. He is without sin, and He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross. He was bodily resurrected from the grave and ascended back into heaven. He is our Lord, our Mediator, and Advocate.

Holy Spirit

We believe in God the Holy Spirit. He is eternal, and co-equal with the Father and the Son, and is One with them. His work is to execute divine will within relation to man: convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ, and conforming believers into Christlikeness.

Creation of Man

We believe that God directly and immediately created man in His image and likeness, free from sin, with rationality, intelligence, and moral responsibility to Him. Man was created to glorify God, enjoy His fellowship, live his life in the will of God and thus accomplish His purpose for man in the world.

Adam's Sin

We believe that in Adam’s sin of disobedience to the revealed will of God, he lost his innocence, incurred the penalty of physical and spiritual death, and became subject to the wrath of God. He became inherently corrupt, utterly incapable of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to God apart from Divine Grace. Adam’s sin has been transmitted or imputed to all men of all ages (Jesus the exception), and all men are thus sinners by nature and by choice.

Salvation by Grace

We believe that salvation is wholly of God by Grace, through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and it is not on the basis of human merit or works. All who believe on Him, trusting in His finished work, are forgiven of their sins, imputed with Christ’s righteousness and set apart unto God. They are enabled to live a life of increasing holiness and conformity to the Will of God, becoming more and more like Jesus. They are given eternal life and cannot lose that free gift, and will show evidence of their salvation by continuing in Christ.

The Body

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells and gives life to all believers, baptizing them into one united spiritual body – the Church, of which Christ is the Head and they His espoused Bride.

Spiritual Gifts

The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers which are to glorify Christ, and be employed in service to one another for the purpose of edification. The Body of Christ is to be built up in the faith by instruction of the Word, by fellowship, keeping Biblical ordinances, and by advancing the communication of the Gospel to the entire world.

Angels

We believe in angels which are created beings and therefore are not to be worshipped, though they are a higher order of creation than man. They were created to worship God and serve Him.

Satan

Satan is a created angel and the author of sin. He rebelled against God, taking with him numerous angels in his fall. He is the open and declared enemy of God and man, but his works are destroyed by Christ’s coming. He, and the angels that rebelled with him, will be eternally punished in a lake of fire.

Return of Christ

We believe that Christ will personally and bodily return to translate / remove His Church from this earth and reward them according to their works. Then His righteous judgments and wrath will be poured out upon the unbelieving world. He will bring to fulfillment all that He has promised.
