About Us:

Family Business

Tim's dad, Al Ruh, started planting Christmas trees in the early '80s in anticipation of operating a Christmas Tree Farm.  Al operated the farm until 2007 when he left the farm to Tim.  This will be Tim's 8th year operating Sunset Christmas Tree Farm, and it has been a learning experience!  We really hope you will come select a tree (or two), and welcome your feedback on how to make this experience even better for your family next year!

Aunt Betty

Elizabeth Sweitzer bought the farm and moved out of NYC.  She raised thoroughbred horses for several decades before leaving the farm to her nephew, Albert Ruh.  Al served Warren County after retiring from the U.S. Army as Major by serving as a Surrogate Judge.  He had many fond memories from his childhood visits to the farm, and his life there as an adult after retiring from the military.  Tim had memories from childhood visits too, but mostly he remembered Aunt Betty's desire that he stay busy and productive on the farm.  That was something he didn't appreciate as a teenager.  Like his father Al, he looks forward to operating the Christmas Tree Farm and seeing his customers each year!
