Bernie & Denise Szarek have over 30 years of farming and growing experience. We grow using HYDROPONICS and we have been growing using hydoponic methods for 5 years. As "Good Stewards" of the land we feel very strongly about this growing method. Our ebb and flow system for our lettuce is a closed nutrient system, no water is wasted. Our tomatoes and other veggies are grown in "coir" (shredded cocoa filber), using drip emitters. We use 80% less water than a typical farm. We also use less land. We grow vertically, wherever we can, this allows us to grow 4-6 time more food, in the same space 1 plant takes to grow in dirt. We use IPM (integrated pest management) we eradicate pests in the early stages of the problem by using natural enemies (beneficial insects), natural solutions and absolutely NO pesticides or insecticides.

Hydoponic growing helps eliminate soil borne diseases. We eliminate any disease born from soil containing high levels of e-coli, salmonella, etc., beacuse we use no soil or manure based nutrients.

We will be accepting a total of 30 full shares for the 2011 season. We want to continue to offer the highest quality produce you have come to expect from the Szarek family.

We are a small greenhouse farm in CNY. We grow vertical! We use hydroponic methods, using "coir" which is an organic material made from coconut husk fiber ,to grow all our veggies. We do not use pesticides or GMO's in our vegetable production.

We make three kinds of fruit salsa: Spike's Hot Old Goat Fruit Salsa, Violet's Medium Old Goat Fruit Salsa and Vinca's Sweet Old Goat Fruit Salsa. We also make Miss Violet's Tomato Basil Jam. All are made using our wonderful tomatoes:
