Temple Beth Zion

805 Delaware Avenue
716-886-7150

Founded in 1850, Temple Beth Zion is one of the oldest and largest Reform congregations in the nation. From its beginning, the congregation has been synonymous with both excellence in programming and the magnificence of its houses of worship. Temple Beth Zion strives to remain Western New York's all-inclusive Temple Community. Our members include those of all ages, walks of life and those of unique family make-up.

The main sanctuary is located at 805 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, New York. The architecture of this magnificent building is world renowned and features two enormous original stained glass windows designed by Ben Shahn. One of the largest pipe organs made sits in the balcony of the sanctuary and the engineering involved in the structure is an awe-inspiring backdrop to our religious services.

Tours are available at the building by appointment and include our Cofeld Judaic Museum with religious items dating back over 100 years. Services are always open to the public and you can arrange to be accompanied to services, again by request. Temple Beth Zion also has a suburban building at 700 Sweet Home Rd., Amherst, New York. This location houses the Temple offices, hosts a myriad of classes and activities and features PALS, the weekday Play And Learn School for children aged 2-4.

Today, Temple Beth Zion is a growing and exciting congregation with programs and services second to none. At more than 1,100 families, Temple Beth Zion remains by far the largest Jewish Congregation in Western New York.
