The Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro, a Catholic, private school, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and based on the educational philosophy of their foundress, St. Julie Billiart, is comprised of a K-8 co-educational elementary school and a college preparatory high school for young women.
Our mission is to educate the whole person for life through a curriculum rooted in spiritual formation and academic excellence. The mission is supported by an environment that nurtures a belief in the goodness of God, community building, extracurricular programs and a commitment to global justice through outreach to the materially poor and service to others in need.
The Academy of Notre Dame continues the strong educational tradition of St. Julie Billiart through a relationship with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. This ongoing relationship is based on a commitment to five Notre Dame Mission Tenets:
Tenet #1 Notre Dame Ministries proclaim the goodness of God in faith and action;
Notre Dame Ministries cultivate respect for the dignity of every person and are aware of and respond to the needs of the materially poor;
Tenet #3 Notre Dame Ministries educate for life where all have the opportunity to grow into their God-given potential;
Notre Dame Ministries create communities which are part of the Church and global communities;
Tenet #5 Notre Dame Ministries cultivate global perspectives, characterized by interdependence and connectedness to all.
