The City of Lambertville Fire Department, District #1, is a Combination Career & Volunteer Fire Department with 3 Career Firefighters staffing the district from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday. The Department’s Volunteer Members continue to respond to calls and train as always. As of early 2016, all members are now officially operating under the Fire District as one.

The City of Lambertville Fire Department, District #1 responds to an average of 180 emergency calls throughout the year, which includes mutual aid assignments in West Amwell, Stockton, Titusville, Sergeantsville, Raritan, and New Hope/Solebury Pa. In mid 2016, the LFD became a participating member in the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force which is a collective group of specialized trained personnel in various Technical Rescue Disciplines.

Collectively the Lambertville Fire Department, District #1 operates with 1 Tower Ladder, 1 Rescue/Class A pumper, 1 Special Service Unit, 1 Command Vehicle, and a Cascade trailer. In early to mid 2017, the District will be placing Squirt 17 into service which was acquired from Prospect Heights Fire Company, Mercer County. The unit is currently being refurbished and painted to match the current color scheme.
