The Red Star Baton Twirlers

31 West Broadway
603-432-9116

The Red Stars are in their 40th year of training children age 4- college in the sport/art of Dance /Twirl, which is a beautiful blend of ballet, jazz and gymnastics with the added sparkle of batons. Twenty three of those years were at Upper Village Hall in East Derry. Students in The Red Star program enjoy a lot of fun from their first day in classes at any age. Taught by three public school educators from kindergarten through middle school, each child is treated as an idividual who progresses at her own pace. From the once a week only classes to the competitive program and the show/parade program, there is something for each child and each family. From parades from Derry to Washington, DC; to opera House performances, to International competitions at Disney World and universities like The University of Notre Dame, to college twirling from U Conn to NC STATE, UNLV, Penn State and Syracuse, opportunititesw abound! Red Stars just passed the half a million dollar mark for scholarships won in the Miss America Program, and have earned even more in college scholarships and grants. We are one of the top ten teams in the USA, with team and individuals having won thousands of awards in our 40 years. Founded and still owned by East Derry resident and former South Range School teacher, Gina Hutchinson, The Red Stars are a proud part of our community. Twirling is just the beginning of what is taught at Red Stars!

Our twirlers, for example, learned the story of Rosie The Riveter as their Nationals routine was being choreographed last spring. The routine won the Beth Wilson Choreography Award over more than 100 other eligible teams across the country. WE CAN DO IT!!

For as little as $40 per month for our "Learn to Twirl" Program, this tried and true Derry Studio offers fun and learning for each student. Rolling admission allows you to try Red Star Twirling anytime! Classes on Thursday evenings! STOP BY TO OBSERVE!!
