609-387-3774

Thomas O. Hopkins Middle School began in 1972 as the Burlington Township Middle School housing grades seven and eight with grade six arriving in the fall of 1973. In 1977, the school was renamed after retired superintendent of schools, Mr. Thomas O. Hopkins. In September, 1999 grades seven and eight were located in the Middle School.

The school is an attractive one story brick building conceived and planned by educators and community members to provide a pleasant academic and social environment for the pre and early adolescent. Hopkins Middle School's guiding philosophy since its inception has been to provide students with a flexible schedule, an attractive environment for learning, and innovative curricula.

Hopkins Middle School is located on 35 acres of land and is adjacent to Burlington Township High School. Both share this educational park setting with its playing fields and playground area. The school building features a large gymnasium, industrial arts, home economics, music, and art facilities, an impressive cafetorium, and a centrally located library with over 12,000 volumes for research and leisure reading.

The mission of the Burlington Township School District is to develop, through an active partnership with the community, self-sufficient citizens who possess the knowledge, skills, self-esteem, and motivation to continue individual growth, solve complex problems, and respect cultural differences.
