Partner in Command

·         Every First Mate needs to know what to do if an emergency arises.  This workshop will provide you a Quick Reference Guide, filled with essential information, to help all crew members assist a skipper in the safe operation of his/her recreational boat.  Learn the correct way to use the Marine Radio, Develop Crew-Overboard Procedures, Proper Use of a First Aid Kit and much more. This will be best 20 minutes the Captain and the crew ever spent together.

On Board Electronics

·         This 20 minute workshop will help boaters identify the basic components of their marine electrical systems: Basic Wiring, How to Test for Continuity, Galvanic and Stray Current Corrosion, and How to Protect your Boat from Lightning Strikes.  Included is an invaluable Reference Guide as to what tools and what parts every boater should have on board.  Plus learn how to feel comfortable testing your boat’s electrical wiring.

 Anchoring on Long Island               

·         This Anchoring workshop has been prepared to assist boaters in the basics of anchoring both on the north and south shores of Long Island.  What are the best anchors and just how much anchor does a boater need for safe anchoring?  Participants will gain knowledge learning proper anchoring techniques from experienced Long Island boaters. A do-not-miss workshop!                

Engine Maintenance

·         Within this 20 minute workshop you’ll be introduced to the basics of engine performance and what you can do to keep your engines humming along.  This includes a brief discussion about Spring, Summer and Fall tune-ups, as well as, an outline of on what to do first!
