Blanchard was given its name to honor Senator Newton Crain Blanchard, who later became governor of Louisiana.

Blanchard is located about ten miles north of Shreveport. Just minutes away from malls, movies, etc., but we're still far enough out to enjoy the peace and quiet of country life. We here in Blanchard feel it is the perfect place to call home.
