Town Of Hancock

50 Main Street
603-525-4441

Welcome to Hancock, New Hampshire, incorporated November 5, 1779! Hancock is a quaint and historic community nestled in the Monadnock Region and named for one of its original proprietors and first signer of the Declaration of Independence, John Hancock. W.W. Hayward has been quoted in an 1879 address as saying: “No pleasanter homes can be found anywhere than here; no truer hearts, no better men and women. They make good citizens and good members of society.” The same rings true today, as the community continues its commitment to historic preservation, land protection and education.
