The purpose of this society shall be:

*To promote the historical study of the objects, customs, beliefs, and other phases of the lives and culture of the occupants of the Town of Pompey.

*To collect, acquire, preserve and catalog all objects, oral traditions and recorded information in any form related to the exploration, formation, settlement and development of the Town of Pompey.

*To disseminate its findings and promote the study of the towns history through public meetings, exhibits, publications and other educational programs.
