Town Of Wilmington

7 Community Center Circle
518-946-4994

Our town is nestled in the valley of the West Branch of the AuSable River. Wilmington is the home of Whiteface Mountain, site of the 1980 Olympic downhill skiing races. The summit of Whiteface, with its unparalleled view, is accessible only by the Whiteface Memorial Highway, which originates in downtown Wilmington. 62% of the Town is State forest preserve, offering rugged wilderness beauty with access to hiking and mountain biking trails in summer and cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobile trails in winter. The West Branch of the AuSable River is internationally famous for trout fishing. Just driving along NYS Route 86, through the Wilmington Notch, is breathtaking and has been designated part of the Olympic Scenic Byway.
