Trinity Episcopal Church

47 East Street

About Us :

Trinity Episcopal Church was founded in 1863, and the original church structure erected in 1872. We were officially accepted as a parish in 1879. For more details about Trinity's rich history, click the red "History" button to your left.

One of the church's most striking features is its stained-glass windows. Illustrating a variety of biblical scenes and themes, our colorful array of 11 windows includes several that date back to the 1860s. To view this beautiful collection, click the red "Sanctuary" button to your left. Of course, our parish has more to offer than just a beautiful view. Today, Trinity is a thriving community of over 100 families. We're big enough that you'll find plenty of ways to worship and get involved, but small enough that you don't get lost in the crowd. In fact, a recurring theme heard at Trinity is that it is the people, with their kindness, friendliness and sense of community, who keep you coming back.

Trinity is a place where we do not expect everyone to agree on issues, such as the consecration of Bishop Robinson in New Hampshire. There is room for diversity, and we see that diversity not as a weakness, but a God-given gift. It is a reminder that we all "see through a glass darkly." Through our interactions with others, we come to see more clearly. We are committed to staying in communion with each other, with the Diocese of Massachusetts, and with the Episcopal Church, USA (ECUSA). In our striving to know, embrace, and share Christ in loving community, we welcome all!
