Tumacacori National Historical Park  protects three Spanish colonial mission ruins in southern Arizona: Tumacacori Guevavi, and Calabazas. The adobe structures are on three sites, with a visitor center at Tumacacori These missions are among more than twenty established in the Pimería Alta by Father Kino and other Jesuits, and later expanded upon by Franciscan missionaries.Tumacácori National Historical Park is in the mesquite highlands where temperatures are five to ten degrees cooler than Tucson or Phoenix. Visitation to this moderate climate is pleasurable during any season of the year. Each year the park offers a unique celebration that reenacts High Mass the way it would have been held at the Tumacácori Mission church. To make the event more fun, you are invited to wear Spanish style clothing that resembles those worn at the turn of the century
