Twin City Baptist Church

194 Electric Avenue
978-582-4901

Twin City Baptist Temple of Lunenburg, MA began in 1974 with four people when Pastor A. Erven Burke, his wife, Carolyn Sue and their two sons, Craig and Nathan, moved to Leominster from Bangor, Maine. Services began in the Leominster Odd Fellows Hall and continued there until the purchase of 27.5 acres in Lunenburg when a 19,000 square foot building was erected. An additional 188 acres of land was purchased in 1988, with plans for a gymnasium, a Bible College, athletic fields, youth and family camps and staff housing among the planned uses for this property. In 1977 the church began Twin City Christian School with 85 students. The school provides an alternative for parents who want their children educated in a Christian environment, being taught by God-fearing Christian teachers. Today the school is fully accredited by the American Association of Christian Schools and enrolls approximately 280 students in preschool through grade twelve. On November 11, 1984, the church officially opened their second building, a 1,000 seat auditorium. Ministries in the church are designed to reach all ages and include Brigade Boys and Pioneer Girls on Wednesday evenings, graded Sunday School classes, and adult Bible Fellowship classes to include college/career age through senior citizens. On February 26, 1996, the church began WCMX radio, AM 1000, "Where Christ's Majesty is eXalted." Christian programming can be proclaimed within a 40 mile radius of the Leominster/Lunenburg area. Later that same year, Twin City Christian Day Care was started and offers child care in the areas of infants to children age 10. The school gymnasium has been completed.
