About Our Church

The United Methodist Church of Geneva has been a family of Christians for over 125 years. During this time our home has changed four times, proving that our church is not the building, but the people. Currently our family consists of a little over 600 members. We have been brought together not by chance, but by God's love to form a Christ-centered community of faith, united in baptism and enriched through worship.

The basis for our vision was restated just a few years ago. Here it is:

God's love creates in us a rich diversity. All are invited to receive the gift of God's love and in turn show it to others by providing a community where God's love and acceptance are reflected.
God's love is manifested in the spiritual gifts that have been given to all Christians. We are called to recognize and affirm each other's gifts and talents.

God's love creates a hunger for learning and calls us to be students of the Gospel. We are taught by the Holy Spirit to listen, read, and learn in order to do God's work.

God's love compels us to reach out and make disciples. God's purpose for us is not to be a self-contained community, but through mission and ministry, to be part of a larger picture: a Christ-centered community within Geneva, within Nebraska, within North America, within the world, and in God's Universe.
