The chief of police heads a full-time, 64-officer police department that serves Upper Merion Township. Assisting the chief is:

• Three lieutenants
• Eight sergeants
• Four corporals
• 10 detectives
• Two juvenile officers
• 39 patrol officers

The department also has a civilian staff that includes one evidence technician, two special officers, eight telecommunicators, a compliment of school crossing guards, a records division, and a secretarial staff.
