Village Farm

122 Belfast Road
207-382-6300

CSA members pick up weekly from mid-June -mid October at one of three sites: the farm in Freeodm, the UU Church in Belfast,or Farmers Far in Rockport. Distributions look like a farmer's market array with members bringing their own bags and weighing out some of their produce. There is an "extras" box which the farmers use for extra produce and other members deposit unwanted extras in. Any one can take from that box and are encouraged to do so! We grow the full assortment of vegetables and herbs but members can expect a nice mix as the season gets going. Salad fixings are a staple each week, some cooking vegetables (broccoli, peppers, potatoes, etc) fresh herbs, lots of tomatoes when they are ripe and a diverse assortment of fall vegetables as the weather cools.

Village Farm is a small, diversified, certified organic family farm in Freedom, Maine. We cultivate about 4 acres of vegetables, herbs and flowers for our 50 household CSA and several wholesale accounts. Our CSA runs from mid June to mid October, at least 17 weeks. There are three ways to pick up weekly CSA vegetables: at the farm, at the UU Church in Belfast or at Farmers Fare in Rockport. At the weekly distributions, we set up what looks like a farmers' market but no money is exchanged. Members select their produce for the week and an "extras" box is the place to swap produce amongst members. We accept Snap benefits (formerly food stamps), we offer payment plans and we have some reduced rate shares available. We raise pastured poultry for eggs and meat and pastured pork and beef as well. We enjoy being farmers and growing great food for our neighbors.
