Village of Ashley

112 1/2 W Oak Street

This village was organized in 1884, named after John M. Ashley, then owner of the Toledo, Saginaw and Muskegon Railroad. He built a spur to the town at that time - most likely for the transportation of lumber harvested in the area.

Today, Ashley is primarily an agricultural community and retains its small town atmosphere, complete with its own school, post office and grain elevator.
