History

The Lakemore Police Department was formed in 1954. At that time, the Police Chief was William Finney and was operated by a Part-Time Department. The Police Facility was located at 1389 Park Drive and consisted of the lower portion of a house were the Police Chief lived. It was made up of 4 rooms and a garage which made up about 700 square feet. The dispatch service was operated from another home in the Village of Lakemore. Chief William Finney held this position until 1960, when officer Rodney J. Sands became Police Chief. Chief Sands moved in as the new tenant of 1389 Park Drive.
