Pastor Murkison answered the calling of the Lord and was licensed by Bishop Gary Hawkins to preach the gospel in March 2003.  In January, 2004 he was ordained as an Elder of Voices of Faith.  He has served in leadership in several other auxiliaries including director of the Gatekeepers.  Pastor Murkison also led the men's ministry at Voices of Faith for four years.  For more than five years, he served as Bishop Hawkins' Armor Bearer.  With this calling, Pastor Murkison taught from his personal experience as an Armor Bearer locally and abroad.  As a result of serving Bishop Hawkins as Armor Bearer, Pastor Murkison was being equipped to receive the next call on his life. 

In the summer of 2007, God's call for him to one day shepherd a flock came true.  He was chosen to pastor, Voices of Faith South, the first church to be planted by Bishop Gary Hawkins, Sr.  By the call of GOD, and under the leadership and direction of Bishop Gary Hawkins, Sr., Pastor Murkison and his family launched the inaugural Bible Study for Voices of Faith South on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the Jim Huie Recreation Center in Jonesboro, GA.  With a total of 11 people in attendance, the vision of Voices of Faith South had come to fruition.  Sunday, January 6, 2008 marked the inaugural Sunday service, which took place at Mundy's Mill Middle School in Jonesboro, GA at 10:00am.  Over 80 friends, guests, and well-wishers were in attendance.  GOD has already shown Himself faithful to Voices of Faith South and Pastor Murkison by blessing the ministry with 25 founding members.  Voices of Faith South has seen steady growth and has recently relocated to 11657 Hastings Bridge Road in the beautiful city of Lovejoy, GA.  Service times are 11AM for Sunday service and 7pm for Tuesday Bible Study.

Voices of Faith South is a ministry that holds fast to the foundation of its love for GOD, strong marriages, loving families and the insatiable desire to grow deeper in a relationship with the Lord.
