        At Wagon Wheel Elementary School, every child is immersed in a rich and stimulating instructional program. The development of each child's basic academic skills is of utmost importance to the school staff. Additionally, the curriculum is enriched with wide ranging opportunities to learn about the nature of the world around us and to use the latest in technology. In the classroom, children are introduced to the wonders of nature and then enjoy firsthand contact with the natural resources at nearby Riley Wilderness Park. The instructional program emphasizes preservation and care of the environment, while an appreciation and responsibility for the natural world and its life and Earth forms is fostered. Children at all grade levels utilize technological tools for learning, research, presentations, communication and increased efficiency.

        The value of the family is also of paramount importance. The staff and PTA strive to make the school central to the community. Frequent events for parents and children are conducted on the campus for the enjoyment of all. At Wagon Wheel Elementary School, students are well prepared to meet educational challenges and to be successful citizens of the next millennium.

        Students at Wagon Wheel School are encouraged to uphold high standards for comportment including areas of dress, language, respect and sportsmanship. Teachers work with students in a positive and motivational manner. Parents are involved with their children in the classroom as volunteer helpers and in regular homework activities.

        Professionals on the staff at Wagon Wheel School join parents to participate in planning, managing and supporting the school's programs. The school's mission is clearly stated for all and serves as the basis for planning and developing new programs. The administration works with a School Site Council to insure that participation in school decisions are made with input from staff and community.
