The Parks and Recreation Department has recreational programs that will interest nearly everyone in your family. The Community Center which is located at the corner of Howe Road and Annapolis, has become a meeting place for neighbors and friends to get together and enjoy a good workout or just have some fun together.

The Community Center is the home of the Aquatic Area, which has a walk-in entry pool and water fountains for all to enjoy. A huge waterslide is often the favorite spot for adults and children. A smaller waterslide is available for the little ones. There is also a separate area in the pool for anyone who likes to do laps or for various civic and school organizations sponsoring competitions.

The newly renovated Ice Rink features annual skating competitions where skaters from across the United States compete. Up to 2,500 spectators can enjoy the annual ice show and many other events throughout the year. It is also home to the Wayne Youth Hockey Association, which features youth hockey teams in all divisions.

The Racquet & Exercise Club (REC) houses state of the art exercise equipment. Certified trainers are available to assist you with your workout or any of the equipment.

The Oakbridge Suites Banquet Facility features banquet and meeting rooms for all occasions that can accommodate from 50 to 400 guests with kitchen facilities available to all rentals.

Besides the Community Center, Wayne is home to 17 neighborhood parks and playgrounds. The annual Fireworks Display takes place at Attwood Park, and the annual Wheelfest celebration is held at Goudy Park. In the summer, the Goudy Park Concert Series is held each Thursday evening at the Goudy Park Amphitheatre.

We invite you to visit any of our facilities and neighborhood parks. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department for information regarding any of the programs that we offer at 734-721-7400.
