West Orange Junior Service League

Post Office Box 376

In 1936, led and inspired by Mrs. Phil C. Peters, twenty five members laid the foundation for the Winter Garden Welfare League. Much of the League's work for the first ten years of its existence centered around the West Orange County Day Nursery. In the 65 years that have followed, the West Orange Junior Service League has continued serving the community through various service projects and fund raising events.

Today the League reaches further into the community than just Winter Garden. Our purpose and objective is: to foster an interest among the membership in the social, economic, educational, cultural, and civic needs of the communities of West Orange County; to train and engage the membership for efficient service in any public work or activity that may be undertaken; and to raise finances through activities of the members with funds to be used for charitable purposes and for the maintenance and furtherance of the work and purpose of the organization.
