Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass will official proclaim the month of October as "Arts and Humanities Month." The Arts and Humanities Council of East Texas will celebrate with a Multi-Cultural Arts Fest on the downtown square in Tyler. The event gets underway with a balloon release following the mayor's proclamation. Festivies include African drumming, Middle Eastern dance, praise dance, face painting, and kids painting crutches that will be sent to Haiti. The event is free and fun for the entire family.
