On Thursday, November 5th, participants will have the opportunity to visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston for a guided tour. Isabella was one of the foremost female patrons of the arts: a patron and friend of leading artists and writers of her time. The museum introduces viewers to one of the most remarkable and intimate collections of art in the world today: The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, setting of one of the largest art heists in history, has an internationally important collection of over 2,500 objects, including paintings, sculpture, furniture, drawings, rare books and more. Recommended reading for the MFA trip are “Mrs. Jack,” by Louis Tharp and “The Gardner Heist: The True Story of the World’s Largest Unsolved Art Heist,” by Ulrich Boser.

The bus departs from the municipal parking lot on Thames Street across from the Robin Rug building at 9am and departs from Boston at 2pm. To register, please send checks to Bristol Art Museum, P.O. Box 42, Bristol RI. 02809. Please include name, address, email, telephone and emergency contact number. Group rate museum admission of $17 will be collected, in cash only, on the bus.
