Description:
The Walk to End Epilepsy on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA, is a fun-filled community event driven by an important cause. Join us for the 5K Run/Walk, 1-Mile Stroll, Family-friendly Games & Activities, Food Trucks, Photobooth, Prizes and Resource Fair! We will also be kicking off our California Love Your Brain Bus Tour, so don’t miss out! 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in his or her lifetime. Seizures can strike suddenly and unexpectedly at any point in anyone's life. According to the World Health Organization, epilepsy is the world's most common, serious brain disorder. At least 40% of the 160,000 living with epilepsy in our backyard are severely affected and continue to have seizures despite treatment. There is no cure. Step forward to raise awareness and funds for a community so often neglected and forgotten. If you love to be active, spend quality time with others, enjoy activities and entertainment outdoors, then do what you love to do, but do it to make a difference. Please visit http://www.WalkToEndEpilepsy.org to register or learn more! Notes: Wheelchair and stroller friendly. All proceeds benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles' mission to provide care, advocacy, and education today while investing in research and hope for tomorrow.
