Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Amundsen grew up with a love for the outdoors and all things active. He attended the University of Utah and his undergraduate time was briefly interrupted for a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ to Costa Rica. Upon his return, he obtained his bachelor's degree in Spanish and from there he moved to Phoenix, Arizona to attend medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. It was in Phoenix during medical school, he found his wife who would later bring him back her hometown of West Plains, Missouri. He traveled to Reno, Nevada for his family medicine residency where he stayed on for fellowship training and sports medicine enjoying working with University athletes as well as participating in diverse medicine. Now living in the Midwest he enjoys outdoor activities of different kind including attempting to ride horses, biking, and any activity involving his four kids.
