Rachele M. McCarthey, MD received her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. She completed her residency in the triple board program (pediatrics, psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry) at the University of Utah. She is currently an assistant professor of psychiatry in the division of child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Utah. Dr. McCarthey is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, general psychiatry and pediatrics. Dr. McCarthey primarily is an outpatient psychiatrist working through the University of Utah's Behavioral Health Clinic. Dr. McCarthey's clinical interests include general child and adolescent psychiatry, eating disorders including family based treatment, anxiety disorders and depressive disorders. Dr. McCarthey has received training in Family Based Treatment (FBT) and is working toward certification. Dr. McCarthey also is interested in refugee psychiatry and serves on the board of Utah Health and Human Rights an organization dedicated to treating survivors of torture.
