Dr. David Hedelius received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. He then completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia and Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego in California. He served 11 years as an active duty Pulmonary/Critical Care physician in the United State Navy. During his time on active duty, he served one tour in Afghanistan 2016 delivering critical care medicine to forward deployed active duty servicemen during Operation Freedom Sentinel. His experience as a military physician includes trauma in an austere environment, management of patients with pulmonary disease, teaching fundamentals of critical care support to family residents, Navy Seals and Marine MARSOC, and was ICU medical director in Kandahar and Camp Lejeune. Dr. Hedelius has been a critical care bedside ultrasonography instructor with the American College of Chest Physicians for over 4 years. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary and Critical care medicine. Dr. Hedelius is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Hedelius specializes in adult Pulmonary disease and Critical Care Medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family, loves to go hiking, mountain bike, and running. Dr. Hedelius welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
