2023 Turkey Trot for Heroes 5K

Held every Thanksgiving morning, our Turkey Trot for Heroes 5K is an exciting event that garners the full support of local runners, running organizations, and our communities.

In addition to the traditional 5K run, we have a Wild Gobbler 5K (a 5K with 5 stations of exercises throughout the route dedicated to Fallen Heroes), and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk!

We are proud to partner again this year with NWA Adopt-A-Cop. Proceeds from the race fund the programs of both nonprofits, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance and NWA Adopt-A-Cop.

So many new and exciting things, and YOU can make a difference! Your participation will allow SDIA to continue our Get Off The Couch® programming that reignites a Sheep Dog’s purpose through three programs:

Outdoor Adventures which ENGAGE our nation’s heroes in physical activities to foster camaraderie & healing;

Warrior PATHH training that ASSISTS them in learning to transform their struggles into strength by making peace with their past, live in the present and plan for a great future; and

Continued Service opportunities (like disaster response missions) to EMPOWER Sheep Dogs to continue serving and giving back.

We are proud to partner again this year with NWA Adopt-A-Cop! They are doing many acts of kindness and assisting local law enforcement agencies around Northwest Arkansas. A portion of funds raised will also go to help fund their programs.

Thanksgiving Morning Schedule:

7:45am Packet Pickup (If you did not pickup the night before)

7:45am Day of Registration

9:00am 5K, Wild Gobbler and 1-Mile Fun Run begin

Awards presented immediately following the races

Children 3 and under may ride in a stroller/backpack with a paid registration.
