Wawa Welcome America kicks off the celebrations for our nation’s birthday weekend at the Museum that celebrates liberty every day of the year with People Speak, a weekend-long celebration of our inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Free Museum Day At Stenton
Stenton is one of the earliest, best-preserved, and most authentic historic houses in Philadelphia. Completed in 1730 as a country-seat, plantation house for James Logan – Secretary to William Penn; merchant, politician, justice, scientist, and scholar – Stenton was home to six generations of the Logan family, as well as a diverse community of servants and enslaved Africans, including Dinah, who lived and labored at Stenton for over 50 years. Furnished with 18th- and 19th-century Logan family objects, and remaining in little-altered condition, a visit to Stenton offers an unparalleled experience of early Pennsylvania.

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Pay What You Wish at Philadelphia Museum of Art
Pay What You Wish Family Festivals on Sunday, July 3and August 7, will be large scale celebrations. They will feature performances, community partners, and art making throughout the building. The July 3 festival will celebrate Roberto Lugo’s vase, It’s All About the Benjamins and will feature locally-based artist Jihan Thomas; demonstrations from the Clay Studio; a hip hop dance performance, and more!

11:00 AM - 3:00 PM: Celebration of Community & Culture @ Esperanza Arts Center
Immerse yourself in the rich and vibrant Latin cultures found across our city. Enjoy a festive block party style atmosphere complete with Latin food, music, and vendors, before heading inside the Esperanza Arts Center for performances by Argentinian pianist Emiliano Messiez and his quartet, and performances and dance lessons with members of the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School.
