Cary's 11th Annual Car Show

Spend a nice spring day seeing cars of yesteryear come alive and rule the roads alongside some of today's modern hot rods and exotic cars. Find that special car that evokes memories of the past or dreams of the future. Academy Street will be full of entertainment, food, and fun for the entire family!

For the safety of pedestrians, cars must remain on-site during all hours of the event. There are no entries after 10 a.m. and no exits prior to 2 p.m.

Cars are parked in the order that they arrive. Car clubs or groups wishing to park together must arrive together.

Registration will close at noon on May 10, 2024.

Entertainment

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Live music with The Highway Ramblers
The Highway Ramblers will be rocking North Academy St with their tribute to the greats. Enjoy a Saturday of classic cars and classic rock!

1 p.m. - Take-Apart-T with AACA Triangle Chapter
Watch a 1917 Model T be taken apart and put back together!

Touch-a-Truck
Touch-a-Truck is a fun, interactive, family-friendly area at Wheels on Academy that allows children and adults to see, touch, and safely explore their favorite trucks and heavy machinery. Join us for a glimpse into the inner workings of awe-inspiring vehicles and machinery and the vital tasks they perform.

Youth Judging
Hosted by the AACA Triangle Chapter, youth age 5 - 15 can learn about car show judging, and do some judging of their own! Sessions will kick-off from Herb Young Community Center at 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Explore-an-EV
Explore the benefits of electric vehicles at this new Wheels on Academy feature. Cars will be on-site to explore! Test driving will not be available.

AACA NC Region Spring Meet

There will be a double car show feature in Downtown Cary as the Antique Automobile Club of America NC Region will be holding their Spring Car Meet in conjunction with Wheels on Academy! The car meet will feature vehicles 25 years and older belonging to members throughout NC and neighboring states. Vehicles include pre-war cars and trucks, hot rods from the '40s and '50s, muscle cars from the '60s and '70s, and more. This car meet is hosted by the local Triangle Chapter AACA. If you love talking cars, be sure to stop by to chat with them at Wheels!
