Georgie Rodan-Ryan Cares for her Community

All Hero Nominee AmericanTowns Hero

Georgie Rodan-Ryan is a true hometown hero. As a professional, she is an amazing special education teacher who has nurtured her classes for 13 years. During that same time she has also held the role of Student Council Adviser, coordinating all the student activities at the high school, including the annual food and holiday drives, senior socials and preschool parties. When classes are done, she dons a different hat and becomes assistant coach for the cheerleading team as well as being the Survivor Committee Chair for Relay for Life. After school she goes home to care for her husband and two children, and then her real volunteer activities begin. Mrs. Rodan brings her same zeal to help others at school out into the community to coordinate food drives for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She collects food for more than 100 local families and also runs a clothing and toy drive to make sure families have warm clothing to wear and gifts to put under the tree. A true inspiration to those around her, Mrs. Rodan is a hero (and might just be a saint). Do you know someone who works tirelessly to make sure that others don't go without? Someone who is in constant motion giving their all to their community? Nominate them for next week's AmericanTown's Heroes.
