A mythical monster like a giant reptile. In European tradition the dragon is typically fire-breathing and tends to symbolize chaos or evil, whereas in East Asia it is usually associated with water and the heavens.

Join us in learning about (and maybe even slaying) these powerful creatures at the library!

-Our Fiery Friends: Are you ready for a fabulous fire-breathing dragon adventure? Join us for dramatic dragon stories and daring dragon activities for the whole family.

-Thursday, August 18 at 4pm at the Midland Library

-Saturday, August 20 at 4pm at the Midland Library

-Gaming Guild: D&D: Disconnect and enjoy the original role-playing game! Come to the library to slay monsters, cast spells, and snag loot in this introductory and approachable version of Dungeons and Dragons.

-Tuesday, August 16 at 4:30pm at the Concord Library (Ages 12-17)

-Saturday, August 20 at 2:30pm at the Concord Library (Ages 12+)

Setting Up Camp!

Summer isn't over yet! Pack your bags and head down to the library for some camp-themed fun. S'more the merrier ?!

-Kindergarten Training Camp: We’ll read some super stories, play games, and have a great time learning skills that will help little ones starting school.

-Concord: Mon., August 1 at 11amWed., August 10 at 4:30pm, and Mon., August 15 at 11am

-Midland: Sat., August 6 at 11am

-Harrisburg: Tues., August 9 at 10:15am2:15pm, and 6:15pm

-Kannapolis: Wed., August 17 at 11am and Sat., August 20 at 11am

-Camp In!: We'll tell silly ghost stories, play a fishing game, and make pretend binoculars for indoor bird-watching.

-Tuesday, August 9 at 3pm at the Kannapolis Library (Ages 4-11)

Let Us Dough Your Mind...

With these dough-mazing activities:

The Midland Library will host a Play-Doh Lab for ages 4-12 on Tuesday, August 9th. Kids get to squish, knead, and create new things!

On Wednesday, August 31st, the Kannapolis Library is helping teens create their own moon dough.

Building Better Caregivers

Are you caregiving for a loved one? Join "Building Better Caregivers"–a 6-week class held on Wednesdays 1:30-4pm from August 17-September 28, 2022 (skipping/breaking on Wed Sept 14th) and held virtually over MS Teams.

This course will teach you how to

-Reduce stress for caregiver and care partner

-Improve health using self-care methods

-Manage difficult care partner behaviors

-Plan for the future

-Find information and resources

-Increase communication skills
