On. Jan. 30, 2023, the Belmont City Council certified the final Programmatic Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and adopted the Housing Element of the 2035 General Plan for the period of 2023-2031.

The Housing Element outlines a plan for accommodating the housing needs of Belmont residents and accommodating the City’s share of project regional housing growth at all income levels over the next eight years.

Since the adoption of the new Housing Element, the City has sent the CEQA Notice of Determination and the adopted Housing Element to the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
