Exhibition - Charlotte: Signs of Home 2022

Arts and Entertainment

October 21, 2022

From: Charlotte Museum of History

Charlotte: Signs of Home tells the story of Charlotte through the colorful and unique signs of businesses and institutions that defined it. Featured signs are from neighborhoods across the city, including Dilworth, Oakhurst, Plaza Midwood, Uptown, and the Museum’s own stomping ground: East Charlotte. Community partners like Charlotte East and the Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association have come together to showcase their neighborhood’s culturally significant signage.

This exhibit is guest curated by Christopher S. Lawing, who founded The Charlotte Signs Project in 2010 to document and save Charlotte signs.
