Helping Our Women Community Update - September 2023

Clubs and Organizations

September 15, 2023

From: Helping Our Women

Greetings Friend,

WOW! A lot has happened throughout the summer months since I last touched base. So many wonderful events, new organizational partnerships established, and incredible milestones for HOW.

Perhaps the news I'm most excited to share is that HOW publically launched a $1.5M fundraising endeavor - The Women Thriving Campaign. This campaign will deepen our mission by incorporating greater health education and advocacy while strengthening the social fibers of connection and community promoting resilience for all women living on the Outer Cape. Our community is grateful to our longtime partner Seamen's Bank for kicking off the campaign with their impactful campaign donation of $20k at our Annual Meeting.

As the completion of renovations for our Eastham office moves to a near end, our community joyfully gathered to honor a woman instrumental in establishing HOW. Ann Maguire, her family, and friends watched as we unveiled the sign to the Ann Maguire Women's Wellness Center and gave sneak peek tours. It was truly a special moment and we look forward to inviting the public for tea and tours in the late fall.

If all of this great news is making you feel jazzed and inspired, keep reading below as we have some 30th-anniversary FUN coming up in the next few weeks that we'd love for you to join in on. Many thanks to you all who made this summer one for the history books and let's keep the momentum going on October 4th when Helping Our Women will party like it's 1993! -Gwynne
