Ocean Springs, MS---Arthur Trace – the award-winning magician will perform shows of magic at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center in Ocean Springs.
Magical entertainment has been taken in a new direction of performance art with Arthur Trace’s innovative and artful way of combining magic, art, and theatre. From his interactive abstract painting where two-dimensional designs become three-dimensional objects to his playing card effect that supposedly turns the room you’re sitting in upside down, Trace draws laughter, amazement, and exhilaration with every performance. With the experience of entertaining at worldwide corporate and private events, colleges, and on “prime-time” national television, Trace’s shows feature award-winning sleight of hand, exclusive grand illusions and close-up magic -- a diverse array of talents. Sheila Thornburg, Programming Manager for the Mary C., states, “We are excited and honored to have a magician and performer of Trace’s caliber perform on our stage. The intimacy of our theater will really give people an opportunity to experience his amazing magic up close.”
Arthur Trace is an international celebrity, having been featured on television in America, Spain, France, China, Japan, and some of the most prestigious theaters in the world. The Chicago Tribune acclaims Arthur Trace as “one of magic’s bona fide superstars” and is highly acclaimed by his peers as “one of the most unique acts in the world today.” He is the 8th magician in the history of magic to be awarded The International Brotherhood of Magicians “Gold Medal International Award of Excellence.” In addition, Trace has been awarded the FISM award at the World Championship of Magic in Stockholm and the “Best Cabaret Magic” award at the World Magic Awards on My Network TV. He was a feature performer on the hit TV series Masters of Illusion, New York’s Off-Broadway hit “Monday Night Magic,” and has performed at Hollywood’s world-famous Magic Castle.
As a natural artist and magician, Arthur Trace thrives on an innovative process of creation. He describes his “main goal in life is to create. When I create, I am alive.” His extraordinary approach to crafting abstract art uses various forms of magic, captivating audiences throughout the process. Trace expresses his artistic style through original and creative presentations dealing with art, philosophy, and altering the laws of nature. It is a truly magical experience where inanimate objects, through Trace’s amazing manipulation skills, come alive.
