Thank you for speaking up and saving lives!
We asked you to urge Congress to increase federal funding for Meals on Wheels throughout 2019 by emailing, tweeting and calling on your elected officials.
And, you did it!
Congress passed a $30 million increase in federal funding for senior nutrition programs like Meals on Wheels.
This could not have happened without you.
You are helping America's seniors stay healthy, safe and independent in their own homes.
However, even with these gains, there's more work to be done. Millions of older adults are still threatened by hunger and isolation.
"We're delighted with this increase, and we still need more."
– Ellie Hollander, Meals on Wheels America President and CEO
Listen to an NPR podcast interview with our President and CEO Ellie Hollander as she explains why this increase is still not enough and why we can't stop our efforts now.
We're so fortunate to have you on our team as we continue the fight in Washington, D.C. and across the country in 2020.
It's going to take all of us working together to solve the rapidly growing senior hunger crisis.
And together, we can deliver.
