Are You Ready for Fall Registration?
Fall Programs & Activities 2023

Set yourself up for registration success and make sure your membership account is ready in our system!

We launched our new membership system back in May. Before fall registration begins, please make sure you can access your online account and verify your account is set up for registration.

Please review the steps below to ensure your online account has been set up:

STEP 1:

Verify your username and password by logging in to your membership account. Click here to log into your account, or visit www.newcanaanymca.org and click MY ONLINE ACCOUNT along the top menu. Your username is the primary email address associated with your Y membership account.

Please Note: Your primary email/username will be used to register all members on your membership account. If you would like to change your primary email address, please call our Member Services Desk at 203-966-4528.

STEP 2:

Verify that your child's membership is active and attached to your membership account. Once logged in, navigate to your Dashboard, and check the bottom right Membership section to view the participants attached to your membership. If you do not see your child or they do not have an active membership, please call our Member Services Desk at 203-966-4528.

Lifeguard Recertification Courses

Spots still available, register today!

RECERTIFICATION COURSES

This one-day course will recertify any current American Red Cross lifeguard with a two-year certification. Participants will demonstrate their skills and brush up on saves, first aid, and CPR/AED. Please see below for available course dates.

Course Dates (one-day):

Time: 7:30 AM-5:30 PM

Fees: $250/member, $300/non-member

We are conducting a brief group exercise survey to gain insight regarding our classes and schedules, including requests for new offerings. Your feedback will aid us in offering the strongest group exercise experience possible for our members and the community.

Summer Schedule Updates

Summer vacations, fun in the sun, and summer subs! See the below group exercise schedule and instructor updates currently in effect:

- Total Body Conditioning on Mondays at 6:00 AM has been canceled for the remainder of the summer.

- Arthritis Water Exercise on Mondays at 1:30 PM will be taught by Sarina.

- Total Body Conditioning on Tuesdays at 7:00 AM has been replaced with HIIT Strength with Tetiana.

Caimans Swim Team Try-Outs

The New Canaan YMCA Caimans Swim Team provides a supportive, instructive, and fun environment for swimmers of all abilities.

Under an experienced and dedicated coaching staff, the Y provides competitive and non-competitive programs for all ages, from developing strokes to competing nationally; all while gaining confidence and learning the importance of teamwork.

2023 Try-Outs:

Join us for our end-of-summer swim team try-outs, taking place on the dates below:

Wednesday, August 30: 5:00-6:30 PM

Thursday, August 31: 5:00-6:30 PM

Fee: $35

Helping Kids Get Back to School

School Supply Drive to Benefit DVCC of Norwalk

Currently, the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) of Norwalk is supporting 180 children in safe houses. Please support these children by donating new much-needed school supplies. *There is a particular need for backpacks!

Neighborhood LemondAid Stands for FAFU

Host a LemonAid Stand now-Labor Day

Put your budding philanthropist's compassion into action by hosting a LemonAid stand this summer to benefit the needy children at Facing the Future Education Center (FAFU) in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya!

Summer Swim Lessons at the Steve Benko Pool

Lessons Running Throughout the Summer

Spots available for remaining sessions, register today!

We are proud to partner with the New Canaan Recreation Department to provide swim lessons at the Steve Benko Pool in Waveny Park this summer!

Classes are available for ages 6 months (parent/child) through 12 years.

Classes run through August 18 as one-week sessions that meet Monday-Friday in the morning.

*Participants do not need to be a New Canaan YMCA member, but do need to be a member of the Steve Benko Pool before the first lesson.

NEW! Water Safety Wednesdays

Are you a parent or caregiver who is curious about how to keep your family safe around water?

Join us for Water Safety Wednesdays each week at the Steve Benko pool in Waveny Park to learn about pool and beach safety, aquatic emergency preparedness, and become certified in hands-only CPR!

Open to participants currently enrolled in swim lessons at the Steve Benko pool!

Kids Club On-Site Babysitting

Available for Ages 6 Months or Older

Kids Club drop-in babysitting is available for Y members while they use our facility. Children must be 6 months or older and able to sit independently.

Summer Location:

Kids Club will be located on the Y's lower level in our on-site babysitting space for the summer.

Days & Hours:

Monday-Friday; 8:15 AM-12:15 PM

Fees:

Kids Club is free for those with a current Family Membership and $15.00/90 minutes for all other members.

Welcome to Our New Online Membership System

An Improved Registration Experience

We have launched a new online membership system to improve your Y experience!

Our new system is easier to navigate and provides an improved registration experience for our members and program participants.

What you need to know and how to get started:

All current New Canaan YMCA Members will need to set up a new online account to manage their membership and register online.

Please review the steps below to set up your new online account.

Step 1:

Ensure you have a valid email connected to your New Canaan YMCA membership account. If you do not have a valid email, are unsure, or would like to change your primary email address, please call our Front Desk at 203-966-4528 and we'll help you out!

Step 2:

Navigate to the new registration system. Visit www.newcanaanymca.org/registration or click the button below to set up your new account.

Step 3:

Log in to your account. Enter the email or phone number associated with your New Canaan YMCA membership and select "Forgot your password?". You must then select "Email me a reset password link" and follow the prompt in your email to reset your password.

Step 4:

Enter your new password. Upon creating and entering your new password, you will be ready to search and register online for programs and activities at the Y!

Set Up My Account Now 

We are incredibly excited to announce that Sophia Shen, New Canaan YMCA Aquianas artistic swimmer, has earned a second consecutive nomination to the 2023 U.S. Youth Artistic Swimming National Team!

In addition to Sophia's nomination, our very own Laura Mase, New Canaan YMCA Aquianas Artistic Swimming Assistant Coach, has been named assistant coach of the 2023 U.S. Youth National Team!

Sophia is currently training with Laura in Las Vegas, NV as they prepare for the FINA World Youth Championships in Athens, Greece later this month, where they will go on represent the Aquianas and the U.S.
