AURORA, CO---The Aurora City Council has set the following selection process to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Ward I Council Member Melissa Miller. Her resignation was effective at 6 p.m. Sept. 4.

Sept. 6 to 14


Applications accepted. Application is available at https://www.auroragov.org/Departments/CityClerk/index.htm or by contacting the City Clerk's Office at 303-739-7094.

Sept. 14, 5 p.m. deadline

Clerk's Office will open early at 7 a.m. that day.

Sept. 24

City Council will review applications and select candidates for interviews at their regularly scheduled study session.

Oct. 1, 4:30 p.m.

City Council will interview candidates at a special council study session.

Oct. 4, 5 p.m.

City Council will appoint new Ward I council member at a special council meeting.

Oct. 15, 7:30 p.m.

Newly appointed Ward I council member will be sworn in at a regular city council meeting.

The Aurora City Council is composed of 11 members, including the mayor, six ward council members and four at-large council members.
